Requirements for Short-Term Car Rental With KINTO Share
Renting a car with KINTO Share is rather straightforward. Nonetheless, there are a few essential requirements you need to meet:
Age Requirement: Most car rental companies require renters to be between 22 and 73 years old. With KINTO, drivers as young as 21 years old are allowed to rent. Just make sure you have a valid driving licence and at least one year of driving experience.
Valid Driving Licence: As mentioned, you must hold a valid driving licence. For Singapore citizens and residents, a local Singapore driving licence is required. P-plate drivers are allowed to rent too!
Foreigners can use their home country’s driving licence for a limited period. This typically lasts up to 12 months, after which they must convert it to a Singapore driving licence.
An International Driving Permit (IDP) may also be required if the licence is not in English.
Rental Period: You’re required to rent for at least a day. You can also extend your rental by the hour. However, extension for every hour will be charged at 10% of the daily car rental rate plus Collision Damage Waiver (CDW). Just inform us in advance before making an extension.
Insurance: Insurance coverage is essential. We highly recommend comprehensive coverage to protect yourself and others. You can also opt for our CDW to lower the excess and reduce financial responsibility in case an at-fault accident happens.
We have two options available:
- Basic CDW at $18/day (inclusive of GST) – applicable for P-plate drivers
- Boleh CDW at $28/day (inclusive of GST)

Are you situated way across town? Not to worry! We have 3 different locations for you to pick your car up:

Drop-offs can be made at either location regardless of where you picked your vehicle up. If your schedule is packed and you can’t pick your car up, opt for our delivery services. We’ll send your car straight to your doorstep depending on our availability!
Seamless Booking Process
Booking a car with KINTO Share is easy! You can reserve a vehicle through our user-friendly website in just a few clicks. Users can browse available model tier, select your preferred model tier and choose your rental period.
However, some model tiers may not be available due to high demand. Please note that car assignments are done by KINTO. We will provide you with a suitable car based on your needs, such as the number of passengers, luggage and purpose of usage.
Avoid last minute bookings during peak seasons or weekends because we’re usually fully booked.
Travel to Malaysia
All KINTO cars have a valid VEPs (Vehicle Entry Permit) to Malaysia. You can take your friends or families on a weekend getaway to Malaysia without any worries. We’ll even come all the way to get you if your car breaks down!

24/7 Roadside Assistance
Our team is always on standby! Help is just a phone call away whether you’re in Singapore or Malaysia. Use a landline to make a phone call and we’ll do our best to guide you through the process.
If you’re involved in a car collision, please do not move the car and don’t unplug the dash camera. All minor accidents must also be reported to avoid any case claim.
We also have the newly launched KINTO roadside support in case you need chauffeur or towing assistance. Services are available in Singapore and Malaysia at only $50 a trip, inclusive of GST.
